I read somewhere recently that July 24th is Coffee Day. Not that I really need an excuse to drink coffee or tea. Heh. Every day is a caffeinated celebration around here. But I like to know when my fellow beings are celebrating too, so I can look around and beam at my brethren globally, knowing we're all on the same page at least one day out of the year. So, says I, cool, I should make a special icon or something. Well, apparently the date is ... a bit murky. To wit:
May 16th is National Coffee Day according to Marf.
May 24th is National Coffee Day in Brazil

July 24th is Coffee Day according to these folx:

(Now, according to American Food and Drink Holidays, July 24th is National Tequila Day. I vote for this one! Combine and consolidate! Tequila IN the coffee!! Or a little coffee in yer ta-kill-ya, depending on your courage and your tolerance.)
Sept. 12 is National Coffee Day in Costa Rica

Sept 19 is National Coffee Day in Ireland

Sept 29th is Coffee Day according to these folx:

Oct. 1 is the Japanese National Coffee Day

And just for good measure, in case you're not dayzed and confused yet, check out these additional coffee/tea holidays from American Food and Drink Holidays:
January - the 4th week is National Irish Coffee Week
January 25th is National Irish Coffee Day
January is National Hot Tea Month
June is National Iced Tea Month
June 10th - National Iced Tea Day
July 26 National Coffee Milkshake Day
Sept 6th National Coffee Ice Cream Day
Sept 29th National Coffee Day
Oh well. I say we celebrate National Coffee Day once a week. Every week. Each week we can celebrate it for a different country. When we run out of countries, we can celebrate it for provinces, states, counties and townships and ... anything else we can think of.
