I got tagged twice for this meme, both by David and peddidle. So, what the heck, I'll do it twice, once here for "regular" books and once over here, for coffee/tea books.
Rules (following D's lead, because I like it too!): Take the top name/link off the list below. Add your blog (with an embedded link) to the bottom of the list and paste the blognames/links into your post.
1. The Glamazon Shoe Diaries
2. regurgitation
3. Soliloquy... one writer's thoughts
4. third world county
5. BTW
How many books do I own?
Currently, about a hundred. (I went and counted, and it's closer to 450.) After moving 3 times in 2 years, I decided to put the packrat (me) on a diet. Heh. Not a food diet, no, but a book diet. It was horribly hard to do. I buy a lot of books, read a lot of books, but now I also give away a lot of books. The ones I do keep are the ones I read over and over and OVER again. Used book stores usually do a nice trade.
Latest book(s) purchased:
The Skies Of Pern - Anne McCaffrey
The Murder Book - Jonathan Kellerman
The Healing Power of Illness: Understanding What Your Symptoms Are Telling You - Dethelefsen & Dahlke
Last book read:
I just finished The Lord of the Rings - for about the fiftieth time. I had recently tried to watch the DVD of the movies, and only made it partway through the second one before I felt ILL. On the whole, they did an ok job, but some of my favorite characters and events had either been left out or perverted into something completely foreign. I had to go read the books again, just to get that bad taste out of my brain.
I am also reading Care of the Soul by Thomas Moore, I Was Poisoned By My Body: The Odyssey of a Doctor Who Reversed Fibromyalgia, Leaky Gut Syndrome, and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity - Naturally! by Gloria Gilbere, and Angels & Demons by Dan Brown.
I usually have 3-4 books going at the same time. It's a mood thing.
5 Books that I like a lot / read a lot / mean a lot to me:
In no particular order:
- Dark Rivers of the Heart- Dean Koontz
- The Pern Books - Anne McCaffrey - Do I have to pick just one? Ok, *sigh*, my 6 favorites are the dragon rider series, and the 3 dragonsong books. And if I absolutely MUST pick a favorite of those, it would probably be Dragonflight
- The Lord of the Rings - J.R.R. Tolkien
- Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
- The Crystal Cave - Mary Stewart
Five more victims:
Cripes, this is the hard part. It looks like everybody has either already been tagged or already done it long ago.
1. Audrey at CoffeeSage
2. Kat of Keep the Coffee Coming
3. Cin of It's Raining Again
I'll just leave this open. Anybody want to do the meme, let me know and I'll add you here!
Lol, David, I swear I just saw you earlier on a different blog practically on your knees begging for this meme again. You change your list, what, never you say? Or was it more like 3 times a day? I believe I have one last spot to fill on my list for that meme if you want to pop over to my blog and look for "Meme! Pick Meme!" and add a comment requesting to be the fifth and final victim so as to have another shot at listing books as you clearly have many more than 5 that are important to you.

McCaffrey, Koontz, Tolkien, Kellerman (J): good stuff! I prefer Faye Kellerman, but that's primarily a taste kinda thing. That husband/wife team are each good on their own. I sometimes wish they'd collaborate on a book, but they've each found a voice that works for them individually.
You know, I think you could tag some folks who've already been tagged and some of them at least would have a different list to offer...
I know I would. Not entirely, but books that'd make my top 5 one day might not make it the next. There are just sooooo many to chose from.
:-)
