The J. Garcia Magic Herb Tea, from The Republic of Tea arrived last week about the same time as all my other packages. I've had a hard time figuring out which thing to blog about first! So many toys, so little time. So this post will be about two of my favorite things - tea and teapots.
First, the Magic Herb. This is a tisane, or herbal tea blend, made of rose hips, chamomile, orange peel, peppermint, vanilla and hibiscus. It comes in little round teabags packed in a nice tube sort of container that I'm sure I'll be able to find a use for once the tea is gone. I wasn't very interested by the smell - mostly what hit my nose was the chamomile I think, and I've never been overly fond of chamomile. But the taste is another thing entirely. Light, floral, just a very tiny bit citrus-y. The flavor of the rose hips is foremost, but it's really light and airy. I couldn't taste the vanilla or peppermint at all, but the hue is a light pink, which may come from the peppermint. Or the rose hips. Or both!
In any case, I thoroughly enjoyed this tea. There was only one cup I didn't like, and that's when I left the teabag in the infuser. When I went back for the second cup, the tea was too strong for my taste, and the flavors had become muddy and thick. I suppose some folx might light it that way, maybe with some honey or other sweetener added, but I prefer it steeped lightly, under 2 minutes.
And now, for the teapot!
This is one of my new teapots from The English Tea Store. I spent a long enjoyable afternoon playing with teapots, making tea, taking picture after picture. I suppose this is my version of porn. There's coffee porn, food porn, [and I think we really MUST include chocolate porn] ... and now ... TEA porn.
I won't fill up this page with my other photos, much as I'd like to, heheh. If you like this kind of stuff, go have a gander at my Flikr CTC photoset for more.

Pretty teapot, matches the cup and saucer perfectly.
I have used both my new teapots, and tea from Strand, but have not taken the time for photos. This will be a post in the near future.
