Carnival of the Recipes #77 is up for viewing and host Prochein Amy did a great job. The theme for this week is one of my favorite things in the whole world - chocolate! There's a mouthwatering selection of chocolate recipes (check out Keewee's Fudge Cake, shown here), plus a hefty chunk of non-chocolate recipes too, just in case you get sick of brown stuff.
Believe it or not, I actually do eat foods other than chocolate. In fact, I actually found something I DON'T like chocolate in. I hear you say, WHAT? NO!!! But yes, it's true.
I usually eat yogurt, fruit and cereal for breakfast (although this morning I did have one of my choco-almond chewies, because ... it was there, and demanded to be dunked in my morning coffee). Part of the cereal mixture I make myself, with a variety of dried fruits and nuts, and I must have bought a different mix last trip to the store because it had chocolate chips mixed in with the nuts and stuff. I didn't realize it until I bit down on one, mixed in with my strawberries, almonds, granola, and black cherry yogurt.
I actually went "YUCK!" Now that surprised me. I've always thought I would love chocolate with/in just about anything.
Anyway, back to the Carnival... special nod to Mensa Barbie's contribution in which she explains beautifully the best way to melt chocolate.
Now, just to add to the choco-pile, here's another Valentine's Day gift idea for chocolate lovers: a place that offers premade Chocolate Gift Baskets, or better yet, lets you make your own chocolate gift baskets. They let you choose from a variety of domestic and imported chocolates, gourmet chocolate cookies and cakes, chocolate biscotti and chocolate cheese cakes, and pots of chocolate accented coffees and cocoas. They even let you pick the basket/container, and some of the baskets are pretty enough to be great gifts all by themselves.
I think this may have to be a gift to myself this year. It's either the chocolate basket or the "make your own" coffee gift basket. This is gonna be tough. I don't know if I can choose!

thank you very much for the link

Yes, I did kinda suck my breath in when you said you do eat foods with out chocolate. Just kidding, there sure are foods which would not benefit with the addition of chocolate.
I had chicken mole, way back when, made by a friend's husband who was from Mexico. The mole had unsweetened chocolate in it, and it was so delicious, pity I did not get the recipe from them before they moved.
