The Carnival is up! Technogypsy has done a great job with this Russian Christmas Edition of the Carnival, adding a touch of history and culture for our edification. I sure feel edified. I didn't know any of this stuff about the Orthodox Russsian culture. But I feel bad... I totally spaced that the theme was Russian this week. More proof that gray matter is still missing. *sigh* And I have a great recipe for Russian Coffee too. Ah well. There are some delish dishes on this week's lineup, go have a look. A few that go to the top of MY list, to make one complete meal:
- Mensa B's Cherry Tomatoes - stuffed with herbs and cottage cheese, sounds like a great lil' appetizer
- Best Beef Stroganoff recipe ever! - the perfect main dish, from WarmBeachBrat
- Tomato Ham and Vodka Sauce - can you have 2 pasta dishes in one meal? Sure, why not?
- Black (or White) Russian Cake - Some "oh yum" dessert from Shawn at Everything & Nothing. Hmmm, maybe this should go to the top of the list. Having dessert first is the privilege of being a growed-up.
- I'm also going to have to try D's Simple Rice Delight as a sweet-but-light alternative to the rich cake above. And a great way to use up leftover rice, which I just happen to have in the fridge right now. Thanks D!
