Ponderings

  • The realm of the soul is the realm of dreams, of creativity, of emotion, and the true spark of life in every life.

Dreams show us how to find a meaning in our lives, how to fulfill our own destiny, how to realize the greater potential of life within us.

We should not pretend to understand the world only by the intellect. The judgement of the intellect is only part of the truth.

Somebody's Lurking

Green Lovebird and FriendsHeh.  I was so intent on getting a picture of this green lovebird with his head in the feeder, I didn't even notice the woodpecker behind him (lower left) or the yellow-eyed sharp-beaked fellow lurking above him (upper left).  This and more lovebird pics in my flickr critter set.

Anybody know what kind of bird the yellow-eye might be? His beak is sharp and hooked. That evil eye and the way he walks makes him look a little like a velocaraptor.

A Thrasher of some type?

Neat pic... and thanks for the link to "I and the bird"--great "carnival"

Hmmm... I've been putting birdseed out on the deck railing this summer for "whosoever will". The dogs keep the squirrels at bay and the birds, well the birds don't give a flip about the dogs (a Heinz57 with some collie and who knows what and a German Shepherd/Lab mix). Heck, the birds seem to eat about as much of the dogs' food as the dogs do.

Maybe some pics, if I happen to have a camera handy at a good time. Maybe.
