Active Worlds Possibilities

MJ brought up the idea of ActiveWorlds.  This looks pretty nice and it's only $7 a month.  You can build your own worlds, which could be the key to keeping our Myst-oriented group together!  I'm going to investigate it further.

Heartbreak and hope

Hey everyone,I've had to make a very tough decision.         Due to time constraints and my dedication to pacifism, I have decided not to follow you all to LOTR.  Of course this breaks my heart but I have hope there will be other options out there eventually for all of us.    I finally found the place my hubby was trying to tell me about--It's called Active Worlds.  This is not a place with a story like Uru but it does have games and activities and the ability to create your own world. Gonna Miss You All

Well, I saw the announcement today, and can't say I'm surprised.  I half-expect someone to either resurrect UntilURU, or get permission to keep the online service running in some way.

Until then, I'm signing off GameTap and I won't be in-cavern after today, except in my own off-line game.  It's been a great pleasure meeting each of you, as most of the hood members are mature individuals.  It's rare that one can find a place where you can play a game without being concerned for what your kids will hear or see.  I'm glad to have been a part of it.

I expect I will be checking into IMVU on occasion, but not often.  Those of you who have my email are still welcome to contact me anytime.

INFO for LOTR Online Game

When you first log onto the game be sure you choose the world/sever named Nimrodel. You then need to first complete the tutorial in order to be part of the Fellowship which will allow us to use the voice chat. Until we all get set up in the fellowship I recommed we use TeamSpeak to talk each other through each part. Also it doesn't matter where you choose to be from in Middle Earth we will be able to get to each other. It also doesn't matter what race or class you choose to be. I am in the process of trying to buy a house somewhere in the middle of the world so we will have easier access to all the different locations.

Something to Consider

I was looking around for information about a game I have been waiting to come out for a while when I noticed the mention of Rand Miller and Myst in a video I had seen before. Something I thought was very interesting was Will Wright's comment about Rand's development of Myst. Considering the fact that cyan has been trying to steer the cavern to more player created content along with Rand Millers dream for Uru, a world that players controlled and created themselves. This is just speculation on my part, along with a bit of encouragement. Imagine what the cavern could be, imagine what Uru could be in the future. I really don't think this is the end, but a beginning of something bigger and better than we have ever imagined before. So watch the video and imagine that as Uru.

Pioneer Valley Performing Arts

Pioneer Valley Performing Arts (PVPA) is a public charter school that i am applying to go to in my area. I went to the 'audition' of sorts, although this demonstration has absolutely nothing to do with if you get in or not, to show them what you do in the creative arts. I did this monologue about  a chicken, and i completly forgot the whole thing. So i made stuff up, and sorta remembered the rest of it:)

We were doing this in front of other people applying for PVPA as well as current students. A couple of the pvpa students said they really liked it though, so it cant have been THAT bad.

Well, i really want to go to pvpa, its wonderful. Compared to the place i go to now, it is something that i thought i would never have a chance to go to.

So I hope i get a good place on the waiting list for 9th grade:) Its a random lottery to get in, and there wont be many slots for people applying for 8th(grade im applying for), first priority is to siblings of current students, then to the waiting list, then to new applicants.

Last night was very scary for me, but it all worked out okay:)

2nd season party in Beginners Bevin

hey gang there is going to be a party in Beginners Bevin on sat. jan. 26th at 1300 KI time in the Eder Delin... GameTap even put a banner about it on their site (after you log in).. i found this announcement on the MOUL forum... there's gonna be games and music (from UruTunes.com) and its to show support for the expected start of the new season.. i hope y'all can make it (/cry - i still cant get in .. wwaaaaaaa)

Pink Fluffy Stuff

Saturday morning, we'll be having Christmas Coffee in Blabbity's.  Or in Delin if we all want snow.  :)  Dress in your best URU holiday duds and wake up in festive Blabbite fashion.

Saturday evening, we'll be having a Christmas Ball in IMVU.  This is our chance to get really fancy, folx, ball gowns and tuxedos and the whole bit.  Nat has even got us some great dances, so we can waltz and tango!  Holler if you need access to the private ball room!
